They invented the slogan “A Diamond is Forever” to make sure you never resell it, because if you tried, you’d realize it has Zero Resale Value.
It is the same marketing trick Coca-Cola used to standardize the red Santa Claus. You aren’t buying an asset; you are buying a marketing campaign.
